Network Operators Group of Latin America and the Caribbean to Host Conference in Montevideo, Uruguay
Event held in conjunction with the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses

[Montevideo, Uruguay, 23 October 2012] — The Network Operators Group of Latin America and the Caribbean (LACNOG) plans to host its annual conference 28 October – 1 November 2012 at the Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel. The event will be held in conjunction with the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC) meeting.
LACNOG 2012, which is co-organized by the Internet Society, will provide a forum for discussing and exchanging technical information and experiences in network operation and infrastructure development, as well as promoting debate on technical implementation issues and business practices among members of its community. Topics to be covered include Fixed-Mobile convergence, Applications, Security, Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), Routing, Network Management, and Infrastructure. The event will feature presentations by global and regional experts who will share their practical experiences in solving operational problems.
“The Internet Society is proud of its active involvement in LACNOG and this annual meeting, which provides an excellent venue for network operators to collaborate on a wide range of topics,” said Sebastian Bellagamba, Internet Society Regional Bureau Director, Latin America and the Caribbean. “This year, because the event coincides with LACNIC's 10-year anniversary, there will be special activities to celebrate the Latin American and Caribbean Internet community, along with prominent speakers who were involved in the development of the Internet at both the regional and global level.”
