You can read more about Internet Society Chapters at: http://www.isoc.org/isoc/chapters/ The Chapter formation process is a bottom up process, so we rely on interested volunteers to take it forward, but we will of course also be there to help you. Those interested should be able to spend some time working to help shape a future Internet Society Chapter in Kenya. It does indeed take time and effort to run a successful Chapter and a strong team is therefore needed, composed of individuals from different stakeholder organizations within Kenya. Everyone is thus invited to take part in helping to shape the Chapter. You can read more about the Chapter formation process at: http://www.isoc.org/isoc/chapters/application/ If you are interested in becoming an active part of shaping the new Internet Society Kenya Chapter with real action and time as a volunteer, then you are invited to join the local group that is currently working on the establishment of the Chapter. Dear mailing list moderator This is to express my joy for seeing Isoc Kenya chapter being created, when I joined Isoc chapters few months ago, it never occur in my mind that very soon we shall have Isoc Kenya Chapter in place. I commit myself to anything that I can to support this initiative. I ni my earlier contribution to the mailing list I copied Mr. Paul Kukubo the CEO Kenya ICT Board with aiming at inviting the him and the board into the process of creating the Chapter. ISOC Kenya Chapter

Dear Members, I am glad that a mailing list is in place now for our envisaged new Isoc chapter. I am also glad that a date has been set for our first meeting. I am currently in Europe but will be back by the date of the meeting. I hope that many of us with the good will of Isoc kenya chapter will attend. Listers, Thanks for the information. It's wonderful that ISOC Kenya is quickly taking shape by the sheer will of the members like us.Let's have a meeting ASAP when we have the quorum. Am sure, we can also get great sponsors in the near future but for now the primary goal is the takeoff. That first meeting will therefore be most crucial and I will continue promoting this initiative to interested parties amongst my contacts. Dear ISOC Team: Thanks for your email. This is great! Am so happy to read it. The ISOC Chapter for Kenya is long over due. I hope that this initiative shall really make it, 'this time'. I am looking forward to participate actively in the same. If it is of any use, having being an ISOC Ambassador to IGF9, I thought, with the help of Dr. Dawit Bekele [my IGF9 mentor).............together with the former KENIC Administrative Manager [Kiragu], my very good friend Barrack Otieno................we were in the process of restarting the same process for ISOC Kenya Chapter. Infact, we had come up with a document that would enable both the registration here in Kenya [according to the Societies Act] as well as for submission to ISOC Head Office for due recognition and formation. Whatever the case may be, am glad to know that I can be a part of this great opportunity for Kenya. ISOC is a really great organization to be part of. I look forward to hearing more. Just so you know, am forever going to be grateful to ISOC, because since IGF9, I have done alot and inspired so many towards an increased appetite for the use of ICTs and the Internet in their 'day-to-day living.'
